ZEC Trains Political Parties’ Polling Agents

HURUNGWE- Zanu PF propositional Member of Parliament (MP) for Hurungwe, Blessmore Kwaramba and MDC – Alliance provincial elections director Kudakwashe Chigumo last week underwent a training programme for polling agents from various political parties.
The two-day training programme was timed to end just before the deployment this weekend of polling agents. Tomorrow, Monday 30, July is election day.
The Hurungwe district Zimbabwe Election Commission (ZEC) elections officer, Taona Pfunye said the training of polling officers was attended by political party agents.
Polling officers within Hurungwe’s five Constituencies would be expected to cover resettlement farms and communal areas and Karoi town.
Pfunye said they invited polling officers to undergo training to help them understand their role in the elections.
‘We have also invited all political party election agents to be part of the training so that they are kept abreast of what goes on during elections. The deployment will be done on time before elections on Monday,’ he said
Pfunye also said they had since started pitching tents at different polling stations within Hurungwe district. He added that Hurungwe district had 269 polling stations including split stations that would cater for more than 1000 voters per station.
