TelOne Gets Rid of Cheaper Wi-Fi Options

By Nhau Mangirazi

Chinhoyi – An Internet service provider and State enterprise, TelOne has been forced to revise its data prices because of the prevailing foreign currency shortages and the weakening of the surrogate local currency.

This has seen the company abolish the affordable weekly $5 and fortnightly $15 Wi-Fi packages. A sales employee at Chinhoyi TelOne said they had been recently ordered to withdraw the two packages because they were no longer economically viable. One has to pay $25 or more now for home Wi-Fi.

Some people in Chinhoyi said up until the decision to increase prices of home Wi-Fi, many people had found TelOne a reasonable and affordable service provider. Home internet had become a basic necessity for many people with children in school or college, who use it for research purposes.

VoteWatch263 tried to get a comment from Chinhoyi TelOne in vain.
